Project TASC (Technical Assistance to State Commissions) is a resource to enhance the effectiveness of state commissions in the fulfillment of their mandated missions as well as the management and administration of their AmeriCorps sub-grantees. Project TASC is committed to the principles of collaborative problem-solving and building an increasingly effective service delivery system. We work with commissions to address critical organization-specific needs and with clusters and the Corporation for National and Community Service to address systemwide needs.

Resources Available

Individual or Group Training and Technical Assistance
Provide consultation via a toll-free telephone line, an on-site visit, conference calls, or regional meetings at the request of state commissions; foster collective discussion on special issues and develop materials to address specific needs. T/TA can be provided with a local, peer, or TASC consultant.

Organizational Development
Offer technical assistance to state commissions on issues such as commission structure and orientation, division of labor, communication process and content, the development of information for program monitoring, and state commissions' benchmarks of success; assist state commissions in getting the results they want from their management, reducing the time management tasks require, and making use of available resources

Organizational Interrelationships
Work with state commissions to enhance administrative interrelationships in order for resources and support available to be optimized; focus specifically on the State Planning process for developing efficient and inclusive outreach strategies and reviewing implications for partners and program management from the planning strategies

Cultivating Effective Partnerships
Provide technical assistance to state commissions on ways to communicate the organizational mission to current and potential partners; strengthen state commissions' ability to identify the roles that partners play in supporting service, develop strategies for recruiting new partners, and develop materials that show the impact of service to communities and residents of the state
