Recruitment is a continuous activity for national service programs, and following a recruitment plan can utilize time and resources in the most efficient way. Catholic Network of Volunteer Service recommends creating a recruitment plan by using their Recruitment Start-up Checklist.

  • Have a start-up checklist
  • Gather information about member benefits
  • Create a comprehensive member position description
  • Attend events that will facilitate outreach
  • Make presentations at events, conferences, and meetings
  • Provide short information sessions when appropriate
  • Distribute mailings
  • Advertise in newspapers, on the radio, and television
  • Submit articles to newsletters and local papers
  • Distribute information at selective sites
