Abstract:
Findings from Independent Sector's national telephone survey of more than 4000 people reveal that adults who engaged in volunteering in their youth give more money and volunteer more time than adults who began their philanthropy later in life. Part One focuses on engaging youth in lifelong service, and Part Two focuses on building programs to nurture lifelong service. Includes a list of organizations that successfully incorporate young people as regular volunteers.
