Summarizes and reflects on the experiences of 38 informal businesspeople who are Latino and work in central New Jersey or New York. Informal businesses are small-scale and do not meet all legal requirements, such as having a business license or paying taxes. Designed to explain the nature and scale of the informal economy in the U.S. and how microenterprises operate within the informal economy. Includes the research methodology and a Spanish version of the report.
