Gives the preliminary results from a study done to determine if adding a balanced literacy approach to already strong enrichment programs would increase the chances for educational gains. The intention was to refine the CORAL (Communities Organizing Resources to Advance Learning) initiative further by introducing a balanced literacy curriculum to the after-school programs.
