Abstract:
Studies the innovative approach of group mentoring in regards to serving more youth. Group mentoring provides mentors to large numbers of youth without depleting scarce volunteer resources. It also offers youth a familiar, comfortable setting in which they can interact with peers, while at the same time receive guidance and support from an adult. The study suggests that group mentoring may complement the traditional approach by attracting different mentors, serving different groups of youth, and potentially benefitting youth in different ways from traditional programs.
