CIRCULATION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

Who Can Borrow Materials:
AmeriCorps (National, State, Tribes and Territories), AmeriCorps*VISTA, AmeriCorps*NCCC, Senior Corps, Learn and Serve America, state commissions, national training and technical assistance providers, and the Corporation for National and Community Service staff.

Obtaining Materials:

  • All those wishing to borrow materials from the library must complete a loan agreement before borrowing. An authorized person such as a project director or supervisor must approve the loan agreement and be responsible for materials borrowed from the library.
  • Materials may be checked out in person, by mail, fax, phone, e-mail, or online. To make an on-site visit, please contact the library assistant for an appointment.
  • Three materials may be checked out at a time for a period of three weeks. The due date may be extended if the materials have not been requested by another patron.
  • If materials are not available when requested, the borrower will be placed on a waitlist. When the materials become available, an e-mail will be sent asking if the borrower is still interested.
  • If materials are needed by a specific date, please contact the library assistant at least one month in advance to verify availability and reserve them.
  • Once requested materials have been shipped, they should arrive within three business days. The library uses UPS 3-day or ground service (depending on the location of the borrower).

Returning Materials:

  • Borrowers are responsible for the cost of shipping materials back to the library.
  • For the borrower’s convenience, the library provides a self-addressed sticker to use when returning materials. If the sticker has been lost, ship materials to the address above.
  • Pack materials securely to prevent damage during return shipping.
  • Materials can be returned via UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS. When returning materials, it is the borrower’s decision to insure them (or not). Please know that if materials are not insured and they are lost or damaged in route back to the library, the borrower is responsible for the full cost of replacement.
  • If materials are not returned by the due date, a reminder e-mail will be sent. If they are not returned within four weeks of their due date, an e-mail may be sent to the borrower's supervisor. After six weeks, the program will be invoiced for the cost of replacement.
