Structured law enforcement preventative and intervention programs are a great way for groups of officers to get involved with and educate young people. Programs such as DARE, Explorers, and JUMP have been effective at developing relationships, deterring drug use, and relaying the message that the police are there to protect and serve citizens, and that includes kids.
