Digital Divide and Community Technology Centers
"Digital divide" refers to the chasm between people who do and people who don't
have access to information technology such as computers or the Internet.
Many national service programs are working to bridge the digital divide
for more Americans. Through schools, community centers, YMCAs, and Boys and Girls Clubs,
members and volunteers provide children and adults with hands-on instruction,
expertise, and guidance necessary to succeed in the digital age.
